Earth 911
-- This is an enormous information site on everything from how to
recycle to how to conserve energy around the house. For those
of you in the United States, you can
even enter your zip code and the site will tell you where all the
recycling places are in your area, how to dispose of hazardous waste
and more! Green
Dimes -- I don't know about you, but I get about 5 pounds of
junk mail every week. Since I do a lot of things "paperless"
via the Web now, most of my regular mail is useless junk and a
complete waste of paper. Did you also know that it takes a LOT
of water to make all that junk mail? Would you like to stop
it? For $36 a YEAR, Green Dimes will reduce your United
States junk
mail by 75-09% and you can even tell them exactly which catalogs to
block (so you can still get the ones you actually use.) Oh,
and they'll plant a tree for you each month too.
American Forests -- It takes 30 trees to absorb the amount
of carbon dioxide produces by the typical "industrialized" person.
